Tim McGonagle Receives 20 Year Length Of Service Award

Tim McGonagle, cooperative weather observer at Scott City, was presented with a 20 year length of service award on Tuesday, August 14th, by Jesse Lee, Observing Program Leader for the National Weather Service in Dodge City.  Mr. McGonagle is the primary observer for the Scott City station and has recorded temperature and precipitation data since 1992.  The station was started in 1889.  The Baker family took over the station in 1925 and the son, H. Douglas Baker started taking observations in 1928.  Mr. Baker was the observer until he passed away in 1982.  His wife Willma continued the observing duties before Mr. McGonagle took over in 1992.
