November 2012 Weather Summary for Dodge City

Precipitation was well below normal for the month of November at the Dodge City Regional Airport. There was only 0.09 inches of precipitation and that occurred on the 10th. This was 0.67 inches below normal. For the year through the end of November, the total precipitation was 17.21 inches, which was 3.55 inches below normal. So far, this year has been the 43rd driest on record. For the September through November period there was a total of 2.52 inches, which was 1.65 inches below normal. This was the 37th driest September through November on record. There has been no snowfall for the season and this puts Dodge City 2.2 inches below normal through the end of November. Temperatures were well above normal with an average of 47.2 degrees. This was 4.1 degrees above normal. The average high was 64.2 degrees and the average low was 30.1 degrees. The warmest temperature was 84 degrees on the 9th and the coldest was 15 degrees on the 27th. There was only one record set during the month and that was on the 9th for a record high. For the year, the average temperature was 60.3 degrees which was 2.9 degrees above normal. This is the second warmest year on record. The warmest year was 1934 with an average of 60.7 degrees. For the September through November period the average temperature was 56.6 degrees, which was 0.3 degrees above normal. The average wind speed was 11.0 mph. The highest wind gust was 54 mph from the south on the 10th.
