Massive Snow Falls on Parts of Southwest Kansas

A small but potent storm dumped heavy snow across a very narrow strip of soutwest Kansas on Sunday January 30, 2005.  The band of snow was no more than 75 miles wide and the heavy snow was confined to an area no more than 40 miles wide.

There was a very small region about 20 miles long by 10 miles wide that recorded more than a foot.  One small location between Minneola and Fowler received between 16 and 18 inches!
