June 2013 Weather Summary for Dodge City

Temperatures were well above normal for the month of June at the Dodge City Regional Airport.  The average temperature was 77.3 degrees which was 3.4 degrees above normal.  The average high was 92.3 degrees and the average low was 62.3.  The highest temperature was 107 degrees which occurred on the 27th.  The lowest temperature was 41 degrees on the 2nd.  The last time the temperature fell to 41 degrees during the month of June was on the 3rd in 1954.  The total number of days that reached at least 100 degrees for June was 8.  The total number of 100 degree days for the year through June 30th was 10.  There was one record high temperature that was set and two others that were tied.  There was one highest minimum temperature set on the 11th with a low of only 75 degrees.  

The total precipitation for June was 2.61 inches which was 0.63 inches below normal.  The highest 24 hour total was 1.25 inches on the 15th and 16th.  The annual precipitation through the end of June was 6.04 inches which was 4.72 inches below normal.

The average wind speed for the month was 14.3 mph.  The highest wind gust was 69 mph from the west which occurred on the 16th.  There were two other days where the peak wind gust was 60 mph and that was on the 15th and 27th.
