July 2013 Weather Summary for Dodge City

Temperatures were below normal for the month of July at the Dodge City Regional Airport.  The average temperature was 79.1 degrees which was 0.5 degrees below normal.  The average high was 92.7 degrees and the average low was 65.4 degrees.  The highest temperature was 106 degrees on the 13th and the coolest was 51 degrees on the 2nd.  There were three record lows set in July and that was on the 1st, 2nd and 15th.  There were a total of seven 100 degree days during the month.  The total number of 100 days for 2013 through the end of July was 17.  This compares to 28 days in 2012 and 35 days in 2011.

The total precipitation for the month was 2.52 inches which was 0.56 inches below normal.  All of that came after the 15th.  The highest 24 hour amount was 0.96 inches on the 25th.  The annual precipitation through the end of July was 8.56 inches which was 5.38 inches below normal.

The average wind speed for the month was 12.3 mph.  The highest wind gust was 58 mph from the northeast on the 22nd.
