| July of 2009 has proved that International Falls is rightly nick-named the "Nation's Icebox". International Falls, MN made it through July without reaching the 80 degree mark or a single day at or above normal. | ||||||

International Falls, MN saw an average July temperature of 58.8 degrees F. This is 7.3 degrees F below normal as well as the coldest July ever observed at International Falls. The previous coldest July on record was set in 1992 where the monthly average temperature was 59.4 degrees F. The warmest daily temperature reached at the International Falls Airport was 79 degrees F on the 26th. In addition, the thermometer dropped into the 30s on four nights; two of which that recorded lows of 35 degrees F. Several new daily record low temperatures have been set this summer at International Falls. One quite impressive record this month is the new record coldest daytime maximum temperature of 53 degrees F that was set on July 16th. This was a full 10 degrees F below the previous record set in 1956. July 16th 2009 also now holds the record for the coldest daily average temperature of 51 degree F for this date. |
