The heat continues for portions of the Northland

Beat the Heat Safely!

The dangerously hot weather will continue today. Temperatures today will top out in the mid 80s to near 100. Add high humities and the result is heat indexes from 90 in far northern Mineesota to 100 to 105 in most other areas.  The heat index value will be even higher in the direct sun.   Use this on-line heat index calculator using temperature and either dew point or relative humidity.

These conditions can be life-threatening, especially to those not accustomed to the heat, with medical problems, or on certain medications.

Remember that pets are also affected by the heat!!
