May 11 is NOAA Weather Radio Awareness Day in Wisconsin
NOAA Weather Radio receivers should be as common as smoke alarms.
Larry and Rita Kznarich of Park Falls, WI, credit the the tornado warning they received via the NOAA weather radio for saving their lives. Because of the warning issued by the Duluth National Weather Service Office they were able to take cover and survive the tornado that tore through their campsite on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage last July.
