Severe Thunderstorms Possible Today - Monitor the Weather

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS PARTS OF
NORTHERN MINNESOTA...

THE LATEST WEATHER CONDITIONS...AND THE NEWEST COMPUTER MODEL
FORECASTS...ARE SUGGESTING AN INCREASING POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING.

THE ATMOSPHERE HAS ALREADY BECOME QUITE UNSTABLE TO THE NORTHWEST
OF THE IRON RANGE...AND MUCH OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST
MINNESOTA WILL SEE WARM...HUMID...AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS TAKE
HOLD BY MID AFTERNOON.

THUNDERSTORMS COULD POSSIBLY FORM AS EARLY AS 1 TO 2 PM...
ESPECIALLY ACROSS KOOCHICHING... NORTHERN ITASCA... AND NORTHERN
ST. LOUIS COUNTIES. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT FORM WOULD TEND TO
ORGANIZE INTO LINES AND THEN PUSH SOUTHEAST INTO THE ARROWHEAD AND
POSSIBLY TOWARD THE TWIN PORTS.

THE MAIN THREATS FROM ANY SEVERE STORM WOULD BE LARGE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.

PEOPLE PLANNING OUTDOOR EVENTS FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST WEATHER CONDITIONS. REMEMBER THAT ALL
THUNDERSTORMS CAN BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE THAT ARE UNPROTECTED IN AN
OPEN AREA. TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES TO PLAN AN AREA TO SEEK
SHELTER...JUST IN CASE A STORM DOES APPROACH LATER TODAY.
