The Water Safety Expo will be taking place for the fourth year at the Park Point Beach House, on the far side of Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge toward the end of Minnesota Point. Take part in the Park Point Sand modelling contest and then come to The Water Safety Expo, where food and drinks will be available at low prices and experts will be talking about safe swimming practices, weather safety, rip currents, and kayaking. Various organizations will provide guests with tips on how to stay safe at the beach this summer, including information about severe weather and hypothermia.
The Expo is organized by the Twin Ports Rip Current Workgroup, which involves Minnesota and Wisconsin Sea Grant, the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation, the City of Duluth Fire Department, Northland Red Cross, the Duluth Office of the National Weather Service, and the Duluth YMCA.
