Marshalltown NWR Off the Air - Monitor Other Stations

The Marshalltown Iowa - NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio is off the air due to flooding beginning in the early afternoon Thursday March 11, 2010. The transmitter will remain off air until further notice, when flood waters have subsided. Please check back to our website regularly for up to date information about when the transmitter will be back on the air and alternative transmitters.

KXI-98 at Marshalltown broadcasts on 162.500 mhz and serves the following 6 counties:

  • Marshall 
  • Hardin
  • Jasper

During the time the Marshalltown NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio is off the air, Marshall County (019127 FIPS Code) will be covered by the following transmitters. Listeners in Marshall County should tune to the strongest signal of one of the below listed frequencies.

  • Des Moines: WXL-57 162.550mhz Ch.7
  • Montezuma: KXI-62 162.450mhz Ch.3
  • Iowa Falls: WNG-666 162.525mhz Ch.6
  • Waterloo: WXL-94 162.550mhz Ch.7

Additionally, the following counties:  Hardin, Grundy, Story, Tama, Jasper and Poweshiek are normally served by Marshalltown NWR.
