Mini April Heatwave Comes To An End At Detroit

MINI APRIL HEATWAVE COMES TO AN END WITH ANOTHER RECORD HIGH TIED AT DETROIT

IN THE LAST THREE OUT OF FOUR DAYS...RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES HAVE
BEEN TIED AT DETROIT...NONE SURPASSED THE OLD RECORDS JUST EQUALED
THEM. A HIGH OF 84 WAS ATTAINED AT 433 PM EDT THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON
AND ONCE AGAIN THE OLD RECORD WAS EQUALED (AND THUS...SUPERSEDED).
THE OLD RECORD(S) OF 84 WAS SET AN IMPRESSIVE THREE TIMES...FIRST IN
1938...1962 AND LASTLY BEFORE TODAY...1990 (SO NOW...FOUR TIMES).
NEITHER FLINT NOR SAGINAW SET ANY RECORDS THIS PERIOD.

TO RECAP THE OTHER RECORDS AT DETROIT...
A HIGH OF 86 ON SUNDAY (4/26) TIED THE OLD RECORD OF 86 SET FIRST IN
1915. THE ONLY MISS IN THE STRING WAS ON SATURDAY( 4/25) WHEN THE HIGH
REACHED 84 WHICH FELL THREE DEGREES SHY OF THE OLD RECORD OF 87.
THEN BACK ON FRIDAY (4/24)...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 86 DEGREES ALSO TIED
(AND SUPERSEDED) THE OLD RECORD OF 86 SET FIRST IN 1960.
BY THE WAY...THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED IN APRIL REMAINS SAFE
AND THAT WAS BACK ON APRIL 12TH 1977 WHEN 89 OCCURRED.
