A Cool Start To July For Southeast Michigan

The average temperature for the first 8 days of July in Detroit has been 66.2 which is -6.4 degrees below the average.  This is the eighth coldest start to July in Detroit history.  Only 1891, 1979, 1892, 1972, 1882, 1924, 1915 had a colder start to this month.  1891 is the "record" for the coldest start to the month of July with an average temperature of 63.4 .

The average temperature for the first 8 days of July in Flint has been 63.0 which is -6.8 degrees below the average.  This is the second coldest start to July in Flint history.  Only 1972 had a colder start to this month when the "record" average temperature was 62.9 .

The average temperature for the first 8 days of July in Saginaw has been 62.9 which is -7.6 degrees below the average.  This is tied for coldest start to July in Saginaw history, tied with 1979.

If you wanted warmer weather, it would have been best to be in Fairbanks, Alaska. Their average temperature from July 1 to July 8 has been 69.1 with high temperatures at least 79 degrees or above every day including a 91 on July 8.
