Widespread severe weather is possible across Southeast Michigan today and tonight as a strong upper level disturbance and associated low pressure system track across Michigan. The greatest threat from these thunderstorms will be damaging winds in excess of 70 mph. There is also potential for hail one inch in diameter or larger and tornadoes. Thunderstorms will also have the potential to produce torrential rainfall, which could lead to flooding if storms reoccur over the same area.
