Two Day Snow Event Ending South...Lake Effect Snow In Thumb...Snowfall Totals through Noon January 2nd

Mostly light snow will continue through the afternoon before tapering off to flurries. Minor additional accumulations will bring two day totals to about 5 inches near M-59 to about 8 inches south of Interstate 94. A Winter Weather Advisory for Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee, and Monroe remains in effect until 2 PM today.

A Lake Effect Snow Advisory is in effect for Huron, Sanilac, and St. Clair counties today through 1 AM Friday.  Northerly winds will lead to lake effect snow bands spreading over the Thumb region with 4 to 6 inches expected.
