January 6-7th, 2014 Arctic Outbreak

Arctic air will remain entrenched over Southeast Michigan through early Wednesday.  Dangerously cold wind chills of -20 to -40 can be expected this morning as temperatures remain below zero.  Conditions will improve only slightly this afternoon as temperatures climb back to around zero, but winds remain gusty.

This Arctic Outbreak, while short lived, has brought the coldest temperatures Southeast Michigan has experienced in nearly 20 years.
