HIGHEST TEMPERATURE RECORDED IN THE QUAD CITY AREA. ON JULY 14
1936...THE MERCURY SIZZLED TO 111 DEGREES AT THE QUAD CITY AIRPORT AT
MOLINE. THERE WERE 11 DAYS IN A ROW...STARTING ON JULY 5...THAT
SAW RECORD MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES OVER 100 DEGREES. THUS JULY 14 WAS
NEARING THE TAIL END OF THIS BLISTERING HEAT WAVE IN THE QUAD
CITIES.
