June 16th-17th Severe Storm Review

 
Synopsis:

Two rounds of storms tracked across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois Monday evening and Tuesday morning.  These storms produced all modes of severe weather with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes over northern Iowa and southern Wisconsin. Frequent lightning and heavy downpours were also common. A tornado rated EF-1 tracked over northern Buchanan and Delaware counties in Iowa with the first wave of storms Monday evening with most of the damage seen south and east of Dundee. Click here to view the storm survey results.  Another round of storms tracked over the area Tuesday morning, where strong 60-70 mph winds were seen. A downburst was surveyed in Durant, Iowa in Cedar county where street lights and power poles were snapped. Click here for damage survey results from the downburst.
