A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING RAPIDLY ACROSS EASTERN IOWA EARLY TUESDAY
MORNING PRODUCED AN INTENSE DOWNBURST AT DURANT IOWA IN CEDAR COUNTY.

START LOCATION:     WEST EDGE OF DURANT IOWA
START LAT/LON:         41.60N/90.9W

END DATE:                TUESDAY JUNE 17 2014
END TIME:                 338 AM CDT
END LOCATION:       NEAR THE CEDAR/SCOTT COUNTY BORDER
END LAT/LON:           41.59N/91.02W

A DOWNBURST STRUCK DURANT IOWA IN SOUTHEAST CEDAR COUNTY EARLY
TUESDAY MORNING. NUMEROUS HEALTHY TREES WERE UPROOTED OR SNAPPED...
SOME AS LARGE AS 4 FEET IN DIAMETER. SEVERAL HOUSES HAD TREES FALL
ON THEM. POWER LINES WERE DOWN. STREET LIGHTS AND POWER POLES
WERE SNAPPED. ON THE WEST EDGE OF TOWN A TRUCK TRAILER WAS TIPPED
OVER. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO CONDOMINIUMS AND A FEW WINDOWS
WERE BROKEN.
