First Winter Storm Affecting the Area - Drive Carefully

The season's first measurable snow storm for much of the Midwest will continue to move across the area through Monday afternoon.  Widespread snowfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected by Monday afternoon, with some locally higher amounts of 4 to 7 inches possible in parts of northwest Illinois.  If you are out and about during this winter storm, use extra caution because road conditions will likely be slick and you will likely not be used to winter driving conditions yet.
