Wind Advisory This Afternoon and Evening

A strong cold front will sweep across the region this afternoon into this evening. Very strong northwest winds  behind the front will be sustained at 25 to 35 mph with gusts occasionally over 45 mph.  The strongest winds should occur from 2 pm to 9 pm and mainly along and south of the Highway 30 corridor in Iowa, Illinois southward to northeast Missouri. A wind advisory is in effect so use extra caution while driving, especially high profile vehicles. The wind should diminish to 15 to 30 mph overnight.
