The winter storm will pull away from the area later today with light snow and flurries gradually diminishing this afternoon and evening. Additional snow accumulations today will be an inch or less. Also, some freezing drizzle will be possible, especially west of the Mississippi River.
Storm total snowfall is expected to range from 3 to 6 inches along and northeast of a line from near Oelwein, Iowa to Davenport, Iowa. Isolated higher amounts are possible over northeast Iowa and northwest Illinois. The snowfall totals will quickly taper off to the southwest to little or no accumulation south of a line from Iowa City, Iowa to Aledo, Illinois.
