The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities needs an individual with an avid interest in weather. We are searching for someone willing to volunteer to record daily weather observations for the Cooperative Weather Program near the following locations:
Aledo, IL in Mercer County

Carthage, IL in Hancock County

Cooperative weather observers are the official weather observers for a community. They take and record precipitation and temperatures each day. Observations are vital to the climatological reporting network and to the mission of the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service will provide the equipment and training necessary then remain available for guidance while you are in the program.
