Cedar Rapids Flood Inundation Maps Now Available

Inundation Maps Now Available for the

Cedar Rapids Area

 

The National Weather Service (NWS) and the Iowa Flood Center (IFC) at The University of Iowa have joined efforts to make flood inundation maps more accessible.  Through this partnership, Cedar River flood inundation maps for the Cedar Rapids area are now available on the NWS web site.

  

Why Inundation Maps?

  • Help people visualize the potential extent of flooding at various river levels
  • Enable communities and individuals to make informed decisions about their flood risks

  • Provide detailed information to assist in planning and mitigation decisions
