Early Season Frost Likely For Some Tonight

Canadian high pressure will settle across the region tonight bringing cold temperatures that may approach record lows in some locations.  Frost is likely to be seen over northeast Iowa, especially in low-lying locations, where low temperatures are expected to dip down into the range of 32 to 35 degrees.  If you live in or near northeast Iowa or extreme northwest Illinois, you should take the necessary precautions to prevent damage to cold sensitive vegetation. Elsewhere, north winds maintaining 5 to 10 mph will keep temperatures in the middle to upper 30s, and thus limit the frost potential to just patchy frost in low-lying areas.
