November 9, 2011 Snowfall Event Summary

The first accumulating snowfall of the season blew through the area during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 9 through mid afternoon when sunny skies returned to the region.  The heavy, wet, and slushy snowfall amounted to just a trace up to around 4 inches.  The areas that saw the most snow of 2.5" to 4 inches was north and west of Monticello, IA and Dubuque, IA.  By 3 pm CST, temperatures across the area had warmed into the upper 30s to upper 40s which melted most of the snowfall about just as fast as it had fallen.
