Temperatures/Precipitation for Aug 2013

  • Below normal temperatures at Burlington and Moline while the rest had above normal  temperatures. Significantly below normal precipitation were common for all 6 climate sites for the month of Aug.  Burlington broke the monthly precipitation record with only a trace of rain. The next lowest amount for Burlington was 0.36 inches in 1901.
  • Burlington and Moline also saw a long stretch of no rain from the 8th through the end of August.
  • High temperature records were broken on Aug 28th at Burlington and Moline. 
    • Record high temperature of 97 degrees at Moline and Burlington broke the previous record of 96 degrees set in 1953 and 1945 respectively
