Winter Storm to Impact Area Today (updated 7AM Tue)
A strong winter storm will track through the Midwest during the day on Tuesday. This storm will bring a prolonged period of snow to eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois, mainly occurring during the morning hours on Tuesday.
Snowfall amounts of 6 or more inches can be expected in areas north and east of a line from Cedar Rapids, IA to Galesburg, IL line with lesser amounts south. At this time, the heaviest snow is expected to occur along and north of Highway 30 in extreme eastern Iowa and in Illinois. Visibilities will be reduced to a half mile or less with the falling snow.
