Severe Weather Outbreak Possible Mid to Late Week

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center (SPC) indicates there is a high likelihood of significant severe weather across the northern plains later this week.  At this time the greatest threat appears to be over South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and southwest Minnesota.  However, there is also the threat for severe weather across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, as an unusually powerful storm system sweeps across the region. The exact location for the severe weather is somewhat unclear at this time, but forecasts will become more specific as we approach the midweek period.

Please be sure to check NOAA’s SPC and NWS Grand Forks web pages, for updates over the next few days, as this system develops.
