National 2008/2009 Winter Outlook

The NOAA's Climate Prediction Center has issued the Official, national Winter Outlook for the 2008/2009 Winter Season. The National Outlook is available by clicking here. Locally, there is little variation expected from the national outlook. Local research suggests that the bulk of the 2008/2009 winter season will have, on balance, normal climatic variability in temperatures and snowfall across the region.

It would appear that December and February will be the coldest months, with something of a break during January. A more detailed analysis of the upcoming winter outlook will be issued by the Grand Forks National Weather Service Office next week.
