Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue today, and heavy rain is possible near any slow moving thunderstorm. A few storms may become severe this afternoon. Unsettled weather will continue the rest of the week with chances for thunderstorms through Friday. Dry and warm weather will return to the region on Saturday into Sunday, before another system moves into the area by Sunday night into early next week.
Heavy rain that fell Tuesday night has lead to river flooding in the southern Red River Valley. Some areas received over 6 inches of rain, and a radar estimation of precipitation below depicts the heaviest rain band from Abercrombie to Barnesville.
