Tornado touches down briefly near Tenney, MN in Wilkin County

A brief tornado touchdown was sighted in extreme southern Wilkin County, Minnesota, between 5:00 pm and 5:10 pm on Wednesday afternoon.  SkyWarn Storm Spotter, Eric Whitehill, began pursuing the mini-supercell thunderstorm which produced the tornado from about 10 miles west of Fairmount, in southeastern Richland County, North Dakota around 3:35 pm.  The storm tracked nearly due eastward into southern Wilkin County and produced a brief touchdown around 3 to 4 miles east of Tenney, or about 4 miles west of Nashua.  Eric took this photo after the tornado had lifted.  The ensuing funnel persisted for a few more minutes before it dissipated near the town of Tintah.
