A destructive F4 tornado struck extreme southwest Barnes county on the evening of July 18, 2004. There were several supercell thunderstorms over eastern North Dakota this night, and at least 8 tornadoes reported. This tornado severely damaged the Noot farm in Barnes county. Pictures below will document the recovery that has occurred in the last 5 years since the tornado at the Noot farm. In addition, aerial images will show the shelterbelts that were removed during the tornado.
