A slow moving area of low pressure will combine with increasing moisture to produce showers and thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in eastern North Dakota. The precipitation will spread east into western Minnesota by Wednesday afternoon. Some areas will receive an inch of rain...with locally higher amounts possible. Areas along and east of the Red River Valley have the best chance for receiving heavy rain Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. A few of the stronger storms Wednesday afternoon could also produce small hail and brief wind gusts. Drier air will build back into the area by Friday, with a warmer and dry weekend expected.
