Widespread Rain with Accumulating Snow Possible

Periods of rain will move across the region into Friday. The Rain will change to snow by Thursday night across portions of eastern North Dakota. Up to 6 inches of snowfall will be possible across this area. The rain will become mixed with or change over to all snow further east by Friday afternoon. Minor accumulations will be possible here. Some areas in the southern Red River valley may receive an inch or more of rain as well, further hampering harvesting efforts and raising river levels a bit. The storm system will intensify Friday and produce windy conditions across the area before moving out of the region.
