Although snow continues to fall today, daily records for Fargo and Grand Forks have occurred on Christmas. Many are wondering how much has accumulated the past three days. Below is a map of total snowfall and RADAR estimates of the snowfall across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Based on the reports, the heaviest band of snow has fallen from the Thief River Falls and Crookston areas of northwest Minnesota through the Grand Forks and Mayville areas of North Dakota, where upwards of 2 feet has fallen since Wednesday.
Estimated total snowfall for the event. Some amounts may not be exact.
Remember this is a RADAR estimate, but it is reasonable to presume the orientation and general location of the heaviest snowfall is fairly accurate. As NWS Cooperative Weather Observers, CoCoRaHS and local watershed reporters send information to us on Saturday, a better picture will emerge. Updated snowfall information will be posted as soon as possible.
