Areas of Heavy Rain through Friday

Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight and Friday.  Plentiful moisture over the area will combine with an approaching cold front, and areas of heavy rain are expected.  It appears the best chance for heavy rain will occur tonight in the Devils Lake Basin, and on Friday into Friday night along and east of the Red River Valley.  Some areas will receive 1-2 inches with locally higher amounts through Friday.  Areas in southeast North Dakota may experience minor flooding from heavy rain that fell on Thursday in addition to more expected rainfall.  A few storms could also be strong with small hail and gusty winds possible mainly in the Devils Lake Basin.
