Very Heavy Snows Blanket Portions of the Lakes Region

A very slow moving storm system dropped over a foot of snow across the Devils Lake Basin Wednesday December 15th, with several locations having more than a foot of snow. Heavy snow extended south and east across much of eastern North Dakota and into the west central Minnesota Lakes Country as well. Due to the presence of very dry air to the north and east of this storm, there was a very sharp cut-off between where snow fell and snow did not fall.

The information will be updated as more reports are received.

Below are images of the areal coverage of snow in the Devils Lake Basin, as well as across our region.
