Radar Loop and Storm Reports from May 30, 2011

A line of severe thunderstorms moved through the region last night, and produced significant wind damage from southeast north dakota through west central Minnesota.  Below is a summary of the severe weather reports received so far.  Damage surveys around the area are ongoing and further information will be provided after these surveys are complete.  There were indications of a large scale damaging wind event, or a derecho, with embedded tornadoes that occurred along the leading edge of the squall line.  Some of the hardest hit areas were Fargo, Park Rapids, Crookston and Walcott with numerous other areas receiving wind damage.
