Heavy Rainfall Possible Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday

A strong upper level low pressure system will move into eastern North Dakota this evening, then into northwest and west central Minnesota tonight. This potent system will bring showers and thunderstorms into Devils Lake Basin this afternoon, then into the Red River Valley this evening and overnight. Some storms will contain localized heavy rainfall, and flooding of poorly drained and urban areas is possible later this afternoon through the evening. The threat for showers and storms will linger on Wednesday, before drier air moves into the region by Thursday. Friday through the weekend looks unsettled once again with daily chances for thunderstorms.
