Hot and Humid Today With Severe Storms Possible

It will be hot and muggy today, with highs around 90 degrees and heat index values from 100 to 105 for most areas. A cold front will move through the region late this afternoon into the overnight hours, providing thunderstorms chances. The potential exists for strong to severe thunderstorms along with localized heavy rainfall from late this afternoon through tonight for the entire region.  The main severe weather threat will be very large hail and damaging winds, although an isolated tornado would be possible if storms can develop late this afternoon and evening.
