New Climate Normals Capture Changes

NOAA's new 1981-2010 Climate Normals are now available on the internet via File Transfer Protocol (ftp). You can access the new normals from the NCDC normals website at:

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/normals/usnormals.html

NWS Offices will start using the 1981-2010 normals on August 1 2011. We are starting to use them operationally 1 month after their release due to the 4th of July Holiday weekend. However, they are available at the link above.
