Winter Storm Tonight into Sunday

 AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO THE ARROWHEAD OF MINNESOTA TONIGHT.  FREEZING RAIN WILL SLOWLY CHANGE TO SNOW IN NORTHERN AREAS BY MIDNIGHT, WITH RAIN PERSISTING FURTHER SOUTH..  FROM THE DEVILS LAKE BASIN TO THE FAR NORTHERN VALLEY A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE OVER TO ALL SNOW AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT.  ALONG A LINE FROM VALLEY CITY TO GRAND FORKS AND ROSEAU A MIX OF RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN WILL TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW AFTER MIDNIGHT.  FARTHER SOUTH AND EAST LIGHT RAIN WILL BE THE DOMINATE PRECIPITATION TYPE WITH POSSIBLY A THUNDERSTORM ACROSS WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA OVERNIGHT.  ROADS WILL REMAIN VERY SLIPPERY WHERE FREEZING RAIN HAS OCCURRED AND TEMPERATURES REMAIN BELOW FREEZING OVERNIGHT, SO USE CAUTION IF YOU MUST TRAVEL.

LATE TONIGHT ALL THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD CHANGE OVER TO SNOW AS COLDER AIR SPREADS ACROSS THE REGION.  MUCH COLDER WEATHER WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA BY SUNDAY WITH SNOW SHOWERS PERSISTING INTO MONDAY.
