Ground Blizzard Expected Today

Gusty winds will continue to produce ground blizzard conditions over the Devils Lake and northern Red River Valley into the early evening. Visibilities will be frequently be under one quarter mile in the open country, while sheltered areas, cities and towns will be in better shape. Cold Arctic air will continue to spill into the Valley and Lakes Country through the overnight and linger into next week. With wind speeds staying up through the overnight, wind chills will range from 25 to 35 degrees below zero. Although winds will continue to slowly diminish through Sunday morning the combination of wind and air temperatures between 10 and 20 below zero, dangerous wind chills will continue.
