Severe Storms Possible Friday Afternoon

A potent storm system will begin to approach the area tonight and move into the area tomorrow. Showers and storms will begin in the Devils Lake Basin late tonight and move eastward during the day on Friday. There is the possibility of some thunderstorms on Friday to become severe, with hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Strong southerly winds will gust to around 40 mph Friday, before shifting more westerly Friday night into Saturday. Showers will linger into Saturday before tapering off for Sunday. However, temperatures over the weekend will be much cooler and topping out only in the 50s.
