Some WxCoder III Problems Continue

Some NWS Cooperative Observers have been having issues getting into the WxCoder III web page over the week-end, and intermittent issues continue into Monday morning. The problem seems to be specific to certain Domain Name Servers (DNS) of specific web providers. The folks who operate the WxCoder III web site are aware of the issue and continue to work on rectifying the issue. As of early Monday afternoon functionatlity had been restored to many Cooperative Observers. Those Observers who have had problems should try to gain access to the system; if you continue to have problems please let us know.

For those observers who could not get in over the weekend, once access is restored you will be able to go back in and enter the 2 or 3 days' worth of observations you were not able to send. It is important to back-fill these data as they do become part of the climate database. Instructions on how to do so are available from your NWS. If you need assistance in entering older observations please contact Mark Ewens at the Grand Forks NWS.
