So how cold was it this winter in Sioux Falls and Sioux City?

The winter of 2013-2014 has certainly been cold but how does it compare to other winters over the past century.  To make keeping records for seasons simple, meteorologists define winter as December - February.  We have put together a table that puts this winter into perspective by comparing it to some of the coldest winters that have occurred in the Northern Plains.
