March Madness has hit the area, and we're not talking about the USD women making it to the Big Dance. CoCoRaHS has kicked off their 9th annual drive for the CoCoRaHS Cup. This is a friendly recruiting contest between all 50 states to see who can recruit the most new volunteers in March. There is always a need for a greater number of observations. As the saying goes, "the rain doesn't fall the same on all". Due to the variability of precipitation, the amounts measured can be quite different from only a block or two away. Help fill in the gaps by signing up, or if you are already a CoCoRaHS observer, recruit a friend or relative during our contest. The more observations there are, the clearer the picture and the better the understanding of where it did and did not rain.
The contest has 2 categories, one for total number of new observers, and another that is population weighted (per capita). Let's see if we can get South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska into the Final Four! Click on either the top image or the image below to go sign up to be a CoCoRaHS observer.
