Plenty of Severe Weather the Last Day of June 2014

The last day of June 2014 started with a few thunderstorms in the far southeast corner of South Dakota a little after 12 Midnight. These developed strong enough by around 130 am to bring hail just south of Chatsworth Iowa. Those thunderstorms dissipated as they moved off to the east, and the weather remained rather tame until about 730 am, when another round of severe weather developed near and south of U. S. Highway 20. Numerous warnings for storms producing large hail, damaging winds, and flash flooding affected eastern Nebraska and western Iowa through about 12 Noon.
