NEAR THE MONTANA BORDER TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...WAS SPINNING OVER
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON. BANDS OF CLOUDS FROM THE
WISCONSIN LOW WERE SPINNING AS FAR WEST AS THE MISSOURI RIVER FRIDAY
AFTERNOON...WHILE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE ENJOYED PLENTY OF
SUN. RAINFALL DURING THE AFTERNOON WAS LIMITED TO A FEW SPOTTY
SPRINKLES OR BRIEF LIGHT SHOWERS ACROSS THE FAR NORTHEAST.
AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 60S WERE COMMON
ACROSS MUCH OF THE RUSHMORE STATE. COOLER HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE
LOWER 60S OCCURRED NEAR THE MINNESOTA BORDER WHILE SNOW COVERED
AREAS OF THE NORTHWEST AND BLACK HILLS HAD HIGHS FROM THE MIDDLE 50S
TO AROUND 60 DEGREES. KENNEBEC AND PIERRE WERE THE WARMEST WITH
HIGHS OF 69 DEGREES. WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 54 DEGREES AT LEAD...
15 INCHES OF SNOW MELTED IN THE 24 HOUR PERIOD ENDING AT 6 PM MDT...
FROM 42 INCHES ON THE GROUND THURSDAY EVENING TO 27 INCHES FRIDAY
EVENING.
AFTERNOON WINDS WERE LIGHT ACROSS THE WEST AND FROM THE NORTHWEST AT
10 TO 20 MPH ACROSS THE EAST.
AT 8 PM CDT SKIES WERE PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY NEAR AND EAST OF I-29
FROM BROOKINGS NORTHWARD. THE REST OF THE STATE WAS CLEAR.
TEMPERATURES WERE GENERALLY IN THE UPPER 50S AND LOWER 60S WITH
EXTREMES OF 53 DEGREES AT SISSETON AND WATERTOWN TO 63 DEGREES AT
MOBRIDGE. IN THE BLACK HILLS...CUSTER WAS CLEAR AND 52 DEGREES.
WINDS WERE LIGHT.
